Listener Reviews:
(Dave Wann, in a moment of concert review jest....................."The earth rumbled beneath us, the clouds parted, the sun smiled, children saw fleeting glimpses of parallel worlds, elders wept and thanked God.........Daryl delivered!")
Daryl Nickel's evocative house concert in our community building last week was well attended and well received. His repertoire of original songs is emotionally eclectic, treating listeners to images of carefree, country-dancing days in Kansas as well as introspective reflections on romances that didn't quite click. There were humorous moments, too, as in the song, "Wheelchair," where he asks, "Who's gonna push my wheelchair, who's gonna wipe my...........chin?" One of Daryl's reviewers refers to him as an "old soul,", and in both his songs and his life, he shares old-soul perspectives with wisdom, wit, and whimsy.

Daryl recently played a house concert for our neighborhood. He's a Song-catcher! Although I did not make up that phrase, I know one when I hear one and I certainly enjoyed the ride.
- Karlene G.
Beautiful balladeering, borne of great stories worth-the-telling.
- Carolyn G.
......your deep voice line, the oddly and comfortingly somehow joyous bluesy-familiar-cum surprises line, and the delicate filaments of light line, with which you so beautifully trail off. Yup, irrepressible genius and creativity. That's what that is.
- Carolyn Y.
Each time I hear you, your music evokes different images and deeper emotional reactions. The expanding narrative introductions made each song even more meaningful. I am anxiously awaiting the next opportunity to hear you again!
- Mae
You're a wonderful storyteller with an engaging presentation.
- Kelley Hunt
A very thought-provoking lyric. Very graceful, it takes you on a journey.
Very profound message here....... Be true to yourself and your song, it is lovely
